Casey Bradford writes her stories surrounded by sticky notes containing half thought-out plot points and snippets of dialogue that will be needed for later scenes. She can be found hunched over her desk late at night, scribbling away to whatever songs have caught her fancy that day, and pretending not to pay attention to the clock. She often laments her characters’ lack of cooperation in the writing process, but loves the thrill of getting to know them as they let her in to their world. When she’s not writing, she can be found studying all things cattle nutrition, or cruising the gravel roads in her pickup truck.

In 2020, she was shortlisted for the Braun Book Award, and was able to publish the novel Such a Time as This, with Word Alive Press at that time. She is nearly finished an M.Sc. in ruminant nutrition, and reading and writing historical fiction takes up her spare time when she is not working with cattle. She has had the opportunity to travel extensively overseas, and her knowledge of Europe in particular has helped shape her writing.
